Season 5 of the Rivals Championship Series concluded this month with our traditional Finals event making its way online. The RCS Finals shattered our previous attendance records and brought the fiercest competition and highest stakes our online environment has ever seen, with over $16,500 raised by the community for the collective events.
Outstanding sets, multiple events across multiple days, and other ambitious efforts made the Finals weekend one to remember. Read on for a recap featuring highlights, event breakdown, and more.

Season 5 Finale Promo
This year, before top 32, we played a special video highlighting the ROCS Finals and the 4 Elemental Majors that made up season 5. This incredible production was created by community member Casual Scrub, and can be found here for repeated viewing pleasure:
THE CHAMP
Congratulations to Penguin for his first place finish in singles. After falling just short of an RCS Championship title each of the last two years, he has finally cemented himself as the world champion.
Penguin also went on a tear in this weekend’s side events. He won a perfect doubles bracket with the help of his teammate CakeAssault, took first place after a thrilling bracket reset in Workshop Singles, and took home 4th place with his teammate Windows in Tetherball Doubles.
I won RCS Finals!
Third time had to be the charm, right?
Super happy with how I played and as it turns out I can win any online bracket I want… as long as finals is in the title. pic.twitter.com/fu3FrzpgxU
